- The Shiv Mandir of Jagatpur is also called the Gangeshwar Mandir. It is situated 2 km west from Veena Ekma railway station of Supaul district in Bihar India. It is well connected to state high way and sitated 3 kilometrre west of Parsarma.
It is said that Late Ganga Mallik of Jagatpur has the credit for construction of this holy temple which is being rebuilt by the devotees now. Construction is in full swing and expected to complete by the end of 2013.
Ganga Mallik was a famous wrestler in early 20th century. King of Garh Baruary Estate challenged him to wrestle with an elephant. Late Ganga Mallik won the wrestle with biggest living creature on soil and won to have one of his choice fulfilled. Leaving all materialistic things behind, Late Ganga Mallik opted to have a shiv temple built next to his house.
Lord Shiva is also known as Gangeshwar nath as he carries Mata Ganga in his jata. Construction of temple was accredited to Late Ganga Mallik. Considering the two, people named this temple Gangeshwar temple.
Temple has huge pond situated in its font and it surrounded green fields. Devotees take dip in holy water of pond before offering prayer in this temple(though not mandatory). Temple has primary and middle school situated in its back side offering education to all.
